Acceptable Donations

Donating Guidelines

Donations are the lifeblood of this organization. Through the generosity of this community, people like you, Goodwill Industries of Northern New England has been able to serve thousands of people with disabilities each year.

Unfortunately there are some items that we are unable to accept. They are not suitable for resale and we can no longer afford to pay the cost to dispose of them. Goodwill does not repair donations, so please donate items in working order. Clothing and shoe donations are the most ideal donations. Ask yourself if this is something I would give to a family member.

We gladly accept (in good condition):

  • Area rugs
  • Bed frames
  • Bicycles
  • Books
  • Clothing
  • Dishes, pots and pans
  • Hand tools
  • Household furniture
  • Lamps in working order
  • Lawn and garden tools
  • Lawn furniture
  • Shoes
  • Small appliances and microwave ovens
  • Sports/workout equipment

  • Ammunition or firearms, including BB guns, pellet guns and arrows

  • Bunk beds
